Kai’s 5 Question Tag

I was tagged a little while ago by the fabulous Kai – aka the Buzz Queen.

INSTRUCTIONS: Remove the blog in the top spot from the following list and bump everyone up one place. Then add your blog to the bottom slot, like so:

1. Holly’s Corner
2. Daddy Forever
3. The Ice Box
4. The Buzz Queen
5. Eleanorblog

Next select five people to tag:

1. Jams (as I owe you a tag  )

I can only think of a couple of others. Anyone want to take this on for a free link?! Let me know.

Then answer the following questions:

What were you doing 10 years ago?

Ten years ago I was still living in London and had been working for the Met for 2 years. I was also heading towards my 21st birthday and had numerous celebrations planned.

What were you doing 1 year ago?

Oh, not one I want to remember. I was in moving house hell, moving swiftly on…

Five snacks you enjoy:

3. Salt and vinegar Pringles
4. Bacon rolls with brown sauce
5. Fish and chip shop chips (with salt and vinegar, ‘natch)

Five songs to which you know all the lyrics:

I can’t think of any specific ones I could pick out. I tend to know all the lyrics of the current albums I’m listening too, just only when they start to play and I sing along.

Five things you would do if you were a millionaire:

1. Buy a house or 2.
2. Help family and friends.
3. Start a business.
4. Start a charity for good causes.
5. Invest.

Five bad habits:

1. Forgetting to return phone calls, letters emails etc.
2. Eating copious amounts of chocolate.
3. Not putting things away and ending up with a pile of stuff to find a home for.
4. Not getting enough sleep during the week by…
5. Watching too much rubbish TV.

Five things you like doing:

1. Reading.
2. Listening to music.
3. Watching old black and white films.
4. Castle-ing.
5. Blogging.

Five things you would never wear again:

1. Anything neon.
2. Short skirts.
3. Coloured or white denim.
4. Large earrings.
5. That pair of heels I wore once and nearly bled to death.

Five favorite toys:

1. My Computer.
2. My MP3 player.
3. Digital Camera.
4. DVD Player.
5. LCD TV.

So I’ve finally done it Kai. Aren’t you glad you asked?

Congratulations Steph!

Congratulations to my sister-in-law Steph for completing another Race for Life in a very cold and wet Aberdeen, raising more than £215 for cancer research.

Picture evidence can be seen over at Thermal.

Photographic Beauty

I love to find new photographers work to look at, and it’s very often on the web that I do this. This is just one picture by the fabulous Feng Jiang, of China. Check out the others posted here.

Mmmm….Antiques Shopping

Having a day off from the castle this week. I’ve got family coming to stay on Monday, and I promised myself I’d spend some time sorting myself and the house out.

Of course, that didn’t stop me doing a little shopping in between. My favourite antique shop is in the next large town which is about 20-30 minutes away by car. The owner is really helpful and helps me date my brooches and offers general advice. She also has the most beautiful antique ring collection I’ve ever seen – and she lets me play with them to see how they look.

She knows I love Victorian jewellery, and was sorting out all her Victorian rings for me to look at. I’ve also got the tiniest fingers ever and it causes problems for me, so we christened them my ‘Victorian hands’ as Victorian rings nearly always fit me! No visit is complete however, without me leaving with something nice, so I have a ‘new’ ring added to my collection from 1892.

Must sort out that cleaning and tidying up now, *sigh*

Kathryn Crocker – London Art Show

Some of you that visit this blog regularly will know that I really admire Kathryn’s work.  So much so, I asked her to paint my favourite Eleanor Cross at Geddington.  A fab job she made of it too.

Kathryn is having a show in London on 24 June 2007, and if any of you are in the area, do pop in, have a look and say hello from me.

Those of you that are too far away, why don’t you treat yourselves to one of Kathryn’s paintings on her website.
