Some brand new, some fairly new ones here:
English Country Houses Interiors by Jeremy Musson
I love any books by Musson.
Bergere, Poke and Cottage: Understanding Early Nineteenth Century Headwear by Serena Dyer
I am really in need of some good hat books!
Charles I’s art collection was amazing. I know a little about what was recovered, but not enough…
Spas, Wells & Pleasure Gardens of London by James Stevens Curl
I have his book on the Victorian way of death – and:
Vauxhall Gardens by David E. Coke
I’ve always been fascinated by the pleasure gardens, as so little of them survives.

Which Grand Duchess Would YOU Be?
My wish list is currently two books:
“The History and Antiquities of the Deanery of Craven in the County of York” by Thomas Dunham Whitaker
“A Tour to the Caves” by John Hutton
Both are unfortunately more than I’m willing to pay
I have that problem with a lot of the ones I want too. Not paying hundreds for them! Thank goodness I managed to get a book on Dobson before they were all £60-£80.
I have the spa book and the Vauxhall Gardens book on my list also. For Christmas I got The English Lakes, a history, by Ian Thompson which is splendid.
I’m now curious about “The History and Antiquities of the Deanery of Craven in the County of York” by Thomas Dunham Whitaker that John mentions, given my interest in the Cravens and their Yorkshire origins. One of my relatives has an extensive collection of antiquarian books about Yorkshire. I will have to see if it’s on his shelf.
Lucky you Nicola for the sources – mind you, if I had all the books I am interested in I’d have nowhere to keep them!
