Introducing Eleanor

This is what my website and this blog is all about. Eleanor, Infanta of Castile and Queen of Edward I of England. When she died Edward was so distraught he had an elaborate cross erected in each place her body rested on her journey back to London from Harby, Nottinghamshire. There were 12 in total, only 3 remain. This is my favourite at Geddington, Northamptonshire. Hard to believe this was built in about 1294 isn’t it?
