Stardust in My Eyes?

Posted by Alison under: BlahBlahBlah; Films .

Hello.  I appear to be back in the land of the living today, or at least somewhat nearer to it.

Even though I haven’t really felt like it, I have been going outside when the weather hasn’t been too bad.  Just to get the air really as I have been really congested.  (Don’t worry, I won’t give any graphic details.)  I managed a walk around the gardens of Crathes Castle on Thursday which was nice.  The birds were out in force, and the Robins singing profusely.  Bought a local book on castles as part of my research drive, along with one about local monumental inscriptions.

I had to drop something off to a friend yesterday, so I picked up copies of the DVDs for Elizabeth the Golden Age and Stardust.  I hadn’t seen either of these so it was something to watch while I was convalescing.

I watched Stardust, and it was brilliant.  I though there might be a few lulls in places, but they kept the momentum going nicely, and it was a very original film.  I love the despatching and the ghosts of the 7 Princes as I’ve got an evil sense of humour, but I won’t mention any specifics in case people haven’t seen it.

I must give a big thanks to all the good wishes you’ve left here, and a specific mention to Webduck who sent me a lovely e-card (love the flower!).  Why stardust in my eyes?  Well, this cold has made my eyes stream and burn and feel as if they have grit in, so maybe I could make it more exciting and let it be stardust.

Will catch up with posts and tags over the weekend, have a good one friends.

What did you think of Elizabeth the Golden Age? I keep hearing mixed reviews, but liked the first one so much that I’ll check it out eventually no matter what. Glad to hear you’re beginning to feel better, Alison!

I am so happy to hear you are feeling better. That congestion stuff can be really awful. I know you like close up photos of things, so I am especially happy you liked the e-card I sent. Good to know my friend is back in the land of the living.

I meant to get round to watching Stardust at some point. Just annoyed I missed it at my local cinema.
