Great photo. There’s nmothing like a ruined (or not ruined) castle!
This is beautiful. I’ll buy it… though window treatments could be a challenge….
What beautiful stonework – great photo! Happy WW
Beautiful. I’m not sure where this is, but I’d love to see it in person!
Lovely photo!
I always love coming here. Your site is filled with beautiful history. Have a great WW.
Nice shot of an interesting structure
Ok, Alison, I give up. I looked and looked at the castles listed on ‘Scenic Scotland’ and couldn’t find yours. Can you go up in there?
A bag drop is where you drop off your
wifegolf bags (from your car) when you are renting a driving golf cart.Link to ours in the Fourth of July parade, Mrs. Jim was driving, Adi and BP were riding

I see that and think Cornwall. Of course I have no actual clue but hey =0
Fantastic!
Cool photo. Where is this?
Oh, I so wish I could be there to see this myself! Ah well, I shall continue on vicariously…
Beautiful photo, Alison!
Happy WW!
The crow-step gables make me think this is in Scotland (East Coast?), although I don’t think I’ve seen this particular building.
Great images and template!
You post amazing pictures
Love the sepia. We’ve just moved, so my WW is showing the pile of boxes, without much architectural details.
I love old buildings like this!
Another beautiful shot.
Lovely. Enchanting. Castles always have that enigmatic air in them. Where is this?
A lovely sepia ruin!
Love the way the field stone was used.
The postponing of the picture is a nice touch as well is the perspective from the ground up which makes the towers look imposing. Where is it? Happy WW.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to everyone, had server issues this end! This is, as Chris pointed out at the top Tolquhon Castle in Scotland. It’s looked after by Historic Scotland Jim, so you should find it on their website, if nowhere else! It’s a massive ruin, and you can go up in the towers, and lower down too. I got lots of pictures. It even still has it’s well. It was owned latterly at least by the Forbes family until money problems forced them to give it up. It has pretty much been left ever since, I think at one stage being used to house a farm worker!
Thanks for visiting! I’m off now to make sure I’ve visited you all
I am here at last
I think Tolquhon looks spooky, did you go into the lower bits?
I did, it was a bit creepy in places, especially when I turned a corner and nearly bumped into a foreign tourist!
God damn tourists
spooky photos?
Yep, will show them soon…
Ooh, good! I love your photos and look forward to seeing the creepy areas.
I love your pictures – I feel like I can make a story out of each one – Happy WW!
Oooh, Aaah! You must have some collection, Alison!
There’s an award for you over at my place…
