Pretty impressive, especially if that date is even remotely close to as many years as that statue has been around!

I’m assuming Eleanor of Acquitaine, of course. I’ve always enjoyed reading about her….she was a very strong woman in a time when the majority were not.

Thanks for the comment from those who have visited so far.
It is a statue of Eleanor of Castile, and it is situated on the front of the village church in Harby, Nottinghamshire, England. The church is just a short walk away from where the manor house stood where Eleanor died in 1290. As far as I’m aware the statue was erected within a few years of her death.

I love this picture - and I really love Eleanor. My grandmother’s name was Eleanor but, alas, no statue was erected for her.
